This area on the website is designated for use by the Parents’ Association.
Welcome to the Parents’ Association area within the new school website. Whether you have children in senior school or in Nursery, the association has something for everyone.
All of us on the Parents’ Association Committee would like to wish you and your child a very warm welcome to the Irish Society’s Primary school/Nursery Unit.
The Parents’ Association organises a variety of fundraising events throughout the year such as an Autumn Fancy Dress event, Christmas Craft fair, Bun sale, Easter colouring competitions and the big highlight of the Summer term- Our Summer Fair.n These activities allow our children to meet with friends and let their hair down, while parents also get a chance to meet and chat away from the chaos of the school gates!
All money raised is then used to benefit the children and our school community. The Association funds almost every bus or coach journey taken by pupils to the swimming pool, other sporting outings, and on library visits. It contributes to the P7 London trip, has provided trophies, cameras for every classroom to use and update Parents on the website funded by the association too! As well as funding various little ‘extras’ through the year that a regular school budget often cannot stretch to.
Of course, without the support of you, the Parents, none of this would be possible!
Every parent of every child within the school and nursery unit is entitled to stand for a position within the Parents’ Association. A strong committee is essential to ensure that everything is well planned and safely run, and indeed without adequate adult-to-child ratios many events simply can’t take place. It is a great opportunity to get more involved with your child’s school and meet other like-minded parents. We encourage you to consider joining us!
If joining up is not for you, then maybe you could volunteer to help at some of our events? Otherwise please support us by attending our events, and encourage your child to do so too! We look forward to meeting you all soon!
